![]() ![]() I could grouse about HP making Linux the orphan stepchild of computer-ing for days, as I am certain that HP uses as much FOSS as they can.Note □ This page documents supported printers where you’re just wanting to track the print job through PaperCut. And it cannot be called a reinstallation if all the code must be purged prior to that.Īnyone have the faintest idea of what to do here? And clearing is a pre-requisite to installing hplip again. And I'm still not completely certain that all the hplip code is cleared out. It's in a half dozen higher directories and each fold has another half-dozen folders in each. The largest failure in all this is that even after a bugzilla report was created informing the HP devops, that their install packages didn't respect apt uninstall, that more than 3 years later the same problem still exists.ĭoes anyone reading this know if I can use the CUPS localhost:631 and install a driverless printer and if I do, will I be able to use the scanner? Is it all-in-one? I ask this, as I've spent the last 2 days reading on how to remove the old hplip codes. Prior to that change from su to sudo, I was able to run the hplip and install the printer and scanner. But they left in that installer, su (deprecated) and finding and replacing those su with sudo has proved more than problematic. The Linux guys at HP, have a binary script to run/install the code for their Linux supported printers.
